About CyberStartup Funding
An independent database tracking cybersecurity startup funding rounds, investors, growth metrics, and market trends. We aim to provide the most comprehensive and accurate view of the cybersecurity startup ecosystem.
What We Do
Track Funding Rounds
We track equity funding rounds across 200+ cybersecurity companies, from pre-seed through IPO. Each round is verified against at least one public source.
Report Growth Metrics
ARR growth rates, employee counts, customer numbers, and technical benchmarks where available. Metrics are labeled as self-reported or estimated.
Map the Investor Landscape
Track 45+ active cybersecurity investors, their portfolio companies, deal sizes, and investment thesis patterns across the ecosystem.
Data Methodology
Our database is built from multiple public and verified sources. Here is how we collect, verify, and maintain the data.
SEC Filings
Form D filings, S-1 registrations, and other public regulatory documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Crunchbase
Cross-referenced for funding round data, company profiles, and investor information. Pro subscription for full data access.
PitchBook
Used for valuation estimates, deal terms, and institutional investor data where available.
Press Releases & News
Company announcements, PR Newswire, Business Wire, and cybersecurity trade publications (Dark Reading, SC Magazine, CSO Online, etc.).
Verified Company Submissions
Companies can submit or update their own data through our verification process. Submissions are cross-checked against at least one public source.
State Registrations
State-level corporate filings (Delaware, California, etc.) for founding dates, entity status, and registered agent information.
Refresh Cycle
Full database refreshes occur weekly (typically Sunday evening PT). Breaking funding announcements are processed within 24 hours of public disclosure. Company-submitted updates are verified and published within 72 hours. All pages display their last update timestamp.
Data Accuracy & Limitations
Funding Data: We report publicly disclosed funding amounts. Some rounds include undisclosed extensions or debt components that are not reflected. Where exact amounts are unavailable, we note the data as estimated.
Growth Metrics: ARR growth rates and revenue figures are either self-reported by companies through our verified submission process or estimated from public data points such as job listings, customer announcements, and partner disclosures. We clearly label all estimated metrics.
Employee Counts: Based on LinkedIn data, company disclosures, and verified submissions. These are point-in-time snapshots and may lag actual headcount.
Valuations: We generally do not report private company valuations unless they have been publicly disclosed by the company or in press reporting. Valuation estimates from PitchBook are labeled as estimates.
